According to a recent report on CCTV’s Xinwen Lianbo, Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, specifically visited the Sanjiangyuan National Big Data Base and the Qinghai Green Computing-Electricity Integration Dispatch and Ecological Monitoring Center during his inspection tour in Gansu and Qinghai. He emphasized the need to “unwaveringly pursue green development and integrate the building of computing power platforms with the utilization of clean energy”, charting a course for the integrated and innovative development of the digital economy and clean energy in Western China.
Guided by national strategies and driven by its mission of “Empowering the Future with Intelligent Computing, Steering Development through Design”, Guangdong Planning and Designing Institute of Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (“Guangdong Planning and Designing Institute”), a subsidiary of China Communications Services Corporation Limited (“China Comservice”, HKSE code: 552) , has actively responded to the national policy and deeply engaged in the construction of Phase II and III of a telecommunications operator’s Qinghai Sanjiangyuan Green Electricity Intelligent Computing Center, boosting the computing power in Western China with its robust capabilities. By adopting an EPC model, Guangdong Planning and Designing Institute undertook equipment procurement and system integration of Phase III of the Sanjiangyuan Green Electricity Intelligent Computing Center, which is located in the Nanchuan Industrial Park in Xining, Qinghai Province. The project focuses on integrated innovation of “green electricity + intelligent computing”, covering the integrated supply and commissioning of electricity equipment. It provides efficient electricity solutions for the data center through innovative technologies, and adapts to green energy requirements, while simultaneously implementing the renovation of three data center buildings. The project focuses on the construction of three intelligent computing centers and planning of nearly 1,000 intelligent computing racks. Upon completion, it will serve as a computing power service hub for “East Data, West Computing/West Training/West Storage”, delivering over 12,000P of intelligent computing capacity, with future scalability to expand to a 10,000 GPUs cluster, strongly supporting the high-quality development of national computing infrastructure.
Moving forward, China Comservice will continue to solidify the foundation of digital infrastructure in Western China, empowering regional development with green computing power and creating a new engine for high-quality economic development.
