China Comservice Completed the World's Longest Hundred-kilometer-class Hollow-core Fiber Optic Cable Trunk Line, Setting New Low-latency Record

Recently, the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong Low-Latency Hollow-core Fiber Optic Cable Transmission System Live-Network Trial (Fiber Optic Cable) Project, constructed by the subsidiary of China Communications Service Corporation Limited ("China Comservice", HKSE code: 0552), Guangdong Comservice, has achieved full-line commissioning. This project has set a dual record of the "world's longest commercial hollow-core fiber optic cable to date" and the "industry's lowest latency (0.93ms)". This milestone has served as a significant "accelerator" for enhancing cross-border communications connectivity within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong Low-Latency Hollow-Core Fiber Optic Cable Transmission System Live-Network Trial (Fiber Optic Cable) Project connects Dongguan in Guangdong Province to Hong Kong, spanning a total length of 110 kilometers (including 100 kilometers of hollow-core fiber optic cable). A subsidiary of China Comservice, Hong Kong Company, was responsible for the Hong Kong section, while Shenzhen Telecom Engineering Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Guangdong Comservice, undertook the Shenzhen-Dongguan section.

The completion of this project not only provides the Greater Bay Area with a high-speed, low-latency "information superhighway", but will also strongly support regional coordinated development, enhance cross-border communications capabilities, and fully demonstrate the advanced level of digital interconnection within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
